Aims & Objectives:

  • To introduce students to loop based music programs
  • To learn basic music theory
  • To show students how to edit samples & sequencing
  • To mix musical styles to create original tracks
  • Increase student confidence
Content
These will be loop based programs in the first instance (E-Jay & Acid Pro). E-Jay is a program to introduce the student to using samples.

The Acid Pro program will allow the student to mix musical genres from jazz to country & western to garage as well as learning how to create original songs by editing and sequencing these styles.

Also the student will also produce a track to be performed to other students.


Additional Information
The students will be taught how to use and produce songs using samples and loops as well as some of the basics of music theory.

Completion of this course can lead to other courses e.g. sound engineering, advanced music technology and courses in popular music using other software packages in a soon to be built recording studio run by BETA First.
